Terms of Use
Accounts
This platform has three kinds of accounts, and they are never the same account:
- Business accounts (owner and co-users): staff of a single business. One account belongs to exactly one business, ever - the same person can work for a second business, but only with a separate account (a different email).
- Customer accounts: shoppers. One account can be linked to any number of businesses you've ordered from - closing or losing access to one business never affects your account or your ability to shop elsewhere on the platform.
- Platform staff accounts: employees of the platform itself (support, marketing, audit, account management), with no visibility into individual tenant or customer data beyond what their role specifically requires.
Your details with a business
Your name, email and phone number for a business are yours to change - only you can edit them, in your account settings for that business. A business can see them for the orders you place with it, but cannot change them. A change applies to your future orders; orders you've already placed keep the details as they were when you placed them.
Tracking your order
An order placed as a guest needs an email address: we use it to send the order confirmation and a link to track the order, which works without an account. Anyone who has that link can see the order's status, items and totals (not your email, phone number or address), so keep it private. Orders you place while signed in are tracked from your account.
Payments and refunds
Payments are processed by the payment provider each business chooses and connects itself: Stripe, Square, Moneris or Helcim, or an Interac e-Transfer that the business confirms itself. The platform never holds, touches, or has access to a business's funds, and is never a party to the transaction between a business and its customers. The payment provider's own terms apply to the payment it processes.
A business that connects Stripe or Square does so by approving access on that provider's own page. The platform stores only the access it is granted, encrypted, and the business can withdraw it at any time from the provider's dashboard.
Refunds are the business's responsibility. The platform does not send money back to a customer: a business refunds a customer itself (in cash, on a card terminal, or through its payment provider) and records the refund here for its own records. Contact the business you ordered from about any refund.
Prices, currency and availability
Each business sets its own prices and its own currency. An order is always charged and recorded in the currency it was placed in, even if the business later changes its currency. A business's reports can show figures converted into its current currency using published daily exchange rates; converted figures are estimates for the business's own information and never change what a customer was charged.
Products marked "Out of stock" can't be ordered. Stock can change between adding an item to a cart and checking out, so an order can be declined at checkout if an item is no longer available.
Reservation times are shown in the venue's own local time.
Closing a business account
A business owner can close their account at any time. On closure, sign-in is disabled for the owner and every co-user immediately. The business has a reactivation window (half the data retention period below) to change its mind via a link emailed at closure time; after that window, the account becomes unreachable but its data is not yet deleted. After the full retention period, data is permanently and irreversibly deleted, including every co-user account tied to that business (a co-user account exists solely for the one business it belongs to).
Suspension
The platform may suspend a business account for violations of these terms. Suspension is scoped to the affected business only - a co-user who also works for a different, unrelated business keeps their access to that other business unaffected.
Deleting a customer account
Customers may delete their own account at any time. Your account is closed and you are signed out everywhere straight away: your sign-in email, name and phone number are removed from the platform, your sign-in records and saved sessions are deleted, and the tracking links for your orders stop working. You can sign up again later with the same email.
Each business you ordered from keeps the name, email, phone number and order details (such as a delivery address) you gave it - only so it can finish any order that is still open and answer for past ones (refunds, disputes, its own accounting). It keeps them for a limited period that it chooses, within limits set by the platform, counted from the later of your deleting the account and your last order being completed. When that period ends the business's records of you are erased: the order itself (items, totals and dates) remains, without your personal details. During the period you are not included in the business's customer segments. This applies only to customers who delete an account - guest orders, and customers who still have an account, are not affected.
