Frequently Asked Questions
Business accounts
How do I get a copy of my business's data?
From Settings, request a data export at any time (not just when closing your account). You'll get an email with a download link once it's ready.
What happens to my co-users if I close my business account?
Sign-in is disabled for you and every co-user immediately. If you reactivate within the window (see the email you're sent), everyone's access is restored automatically - except anyone who was already removed for an unrelated reason before closure, or suspended directly by platform staff.
Can I use one account for both my business and my own shopping?
No - a staff account and a customer account are always separate. If you want to shop on the platform yourself, create a separate customer account with a different email.
How long do I keep a deleted customer's details?
For the period you choose in Settings → Privacy, within the platform's minimum and maximum - or the platform default until you choose. It starts when the customer deleted their account or their last order closed, whichever is later, so open orders are never cut off. Afterwards their name, email, phone and delivery address are erased automatically and the orders stay with their items, totals and dates. This only ever applies to customers who deleted their account - never to guests or customers who still have one.
How do I publish my business's data policy?
In Settings → Profile, write it in the Data policy box next to your cancellation and refund policies. Only the business owner, and staff who have the profile-settings permission, can write or change it. Once saved it appears as a link on your storefront, checkout, order and tracking pages, for every shopper - with an account or without one. Say what you collect, why, how long you keep it (including the period you set for customers who delete their account, in Settings → Privacy) and who to contact.
What happens to my reports if I change my business's currency?
Past orders keep the currency they were sold in and are never changed. Financial reports show everything in your current currency, converting orders from other currencies at the exchange rate for the day of each order; anything that couldn't be converted is listed rather than silently included. Product prices are not converted - update them yourself if you need to.
Ordering
Why was my delivery order rejected?
The business you're ordering from may have set a maximum delivery distance from their location. If your address is outside that radius, delivery isn't offered there - check if pickup is available instead.
Do I need an account to place an order?
No, guest checkout is always available - you just need to give an email address, because that's where we send your confirmation and a link to track the order. A free account lets you see your orders: orders you place while signed in appear in your order history across every business you've ordered from. Orders placed as a guest aren't added to an account later, even with the same email - the link in their emails is how you keep following them.
How do I track my order?
If you ordered as a guest, use the "Track my order" link on the confirmation page or in the emails we send - no account or password needed. If you ordered while signed in, open My Orders. Either way, an open tracking page updates by itself as the order moves along, and we email you at each step.
Why do I need an email address to check out as a guest?
Without an account, your email is the only way for us to send you the order confirmation and your tracking link - there's no other place to look an order up afterwards. Signed-in shoppers use their account's email.
I lost my tracking email - how can I find my order?
The link is only ever sent to the email you gave at checkout, so check that inbox (and your spam folder) for "We've received your order". If you can't find it, contact the business with your order number and they can help.
Where can I see how a business handles my data?
On the business's own storefront, checkout and order pages, look for the "Data policy" link beside its cancellation and refund policies - you don't need an account to read it. Each business writes its own; if you can't see one, it hasn't published one yet, so ask the business directly.
Why can't I add a product to my cart?
If a product shows an "Out of stock" tag, it's sold out right now. You can still see it, but it can't be added to a cart or ordered. Check back later, or ask the business when it will be back.
Why was an item refused at checkout when it was in my cart?
Stock can change between adding an item and checking out. If the last units were taken in the meantime, you'll be told which items are no longer available - remove them from your cart and continue with the rest.
Why isn't an earlier order in my order history?
Your history shows orders you placed while signed in to your customer account. Orders placed as a guest are not added to an account afterwards, even if you used the same email - you'll still have received the email updates for them.
Customer accounts
How do I delete my customer account?
From your account settings, choose delete account - it first tells you which businesses hold your details and whether you have orders still open. Your account is closed and you're signed out straight away, and your email, name and phone are removed from the platform. The businesses you ordered from keep your order details for a limited period (so they can finish open orders and answer for past ones), then erase them - see the Terms of Use.
Why can a business still see my details after I deleted my account?
Only so it can finish any order that is still open and answer for past ones, such as a refund or a dispute. It holds your name, email, phone and order details for a limited period it chooses (within limits set by the platform), counted from the later of your deleting the account and your last order being completed. Then they are erased. You are not included in its customer lists meanwhile.
How do I sign up or log in as a shopper?
On any store, use Log in or Sign up at the top of the page. A shopper account is separate from a business account, and works across every business on the platform.
Can a business change my name, email or phone number?
No. A business can see the details you gave for your orders, but only you can change them, in your account settings for that business. A change applies to future orders - orders you've already placed keep the details as they were.
Reservations
What timezone is my reservation time in?
Reservation times are in the venue's own local time. The checkout tells you which timezone that is and what it is where you are, and your confirmation email shows the venue's time (plus your own time when it differs).
Payments & refunds
How do refunds work?
Refunds are handled by the business you ordered from, not by the platform. The business returns the money itself (in cash, on a card terminal, or through its payment provider) - contact them about a refund.
Which payment providers can a business use?
Stripe, Square, Moneris and Helcim, plus Interac e-Transfer (which the business confirms itself). Set them up in Settings → Payments. Stripe and Square connect with a button - you approve access on their own page and nothing is copied or pasted; for Moneris and Helcim you enter the credentials once and they're stored encrypted. The platform never holds your funds.
How does a business record a refund?
Return the money to the customer yourself first, then record it under Refunds: who authorized it, who paid it out, and who recorded it. If it's linked to an order, the order's status follows - and a full refund puts the items back in stock.
Locations & staff
How do I control which locations a staff member can work at?
Open Locations, then a location's Staff list, to add or remove people. Staff can only ring up sales (and see sales and stock at the POS) at their assigned locations, and you can set a limit on how many locations each staff member can have. Owners and admins work at every location. In a business with several locations, a staff member with no location assigned can't use the POS until they're given one.
Why can't I delete a location?
A location can't be deleted while it still has stock records or any orders. Remove it from each product's stock first. Orders are permanent records, so a location that has ever taken an order can never be deleted - turn off pickup, delivery and reservations for it instead.
Products & stock
What happens when a product sells out?
It stays visible on your storefront and in the POS, marked "Out of stock", and can't be added to a cart or ordered. It only disappears from a location if you delete its inventory record there or move it to another location.
Can a product be in more than one category?
Yes - give a product up to 10 platform categories. Searching a category also finds products in the categories beneath it, so you don't need to tag a product with both a category and its parent.
Delivery
How are deliveries assigned to a driver or courier?
In Settings → Delivery, choose a default driver and a default courier. When you assign a delivery and leave the method on "Keep current" without naming anyone, it goes to the default for that method. If you haven't chosen one and exactly one person or courier qualifies, that one is used; otherwise nobody is picked for you and you choose.
